Old Castle Fredrickson Manufacturing
In the autumn of 2015, Oldcastle APG entrusted HHJ with a pivotal task: to conceptualize, obtain permits, and actualize the construction of a cutting-edge cement block and paver manufacturing facility, ensuring its readiness for the bustling spring sales season of 2017. Crafted as a pre-engineered steel structure, this facility was meticulously tailored to accommodate sophisticated manufacturing machinery sourced globally. Its excellence garnered recognition from Pierce County, earning it a spot among the esteemed Top 10 projects of the year, accompanied by a special commendation from the County Executive.
Key Challenges Overcome:
Swift and streamlined scheduling were imperative for this venture, necessitating the design of two interconnected manufacturing facilities with the flexibility for phased construction. When the demand for enhanced manufacturing capacity arose sooner than anticipated, HHJ adeptly pivoted, aligning construction timelines to meet pressing production deadlines. Opting to oversee equipment procurement and installation internally, the client entrusted HHJ with coordination and support, ensuring seamless integration with additional MEP trades to adhere to Washington state labor regulations.
